Registration
The Gloucester Public Schools Student Registration Office provides information, resources and support for enhancing family and community partnerships. Our goal is to create a positive, readily accessible community support system, and to ensure that families and students have ample opportunities to access resources and information that enable children to reach their full potential.
Gloucester Public Schools serves approximately 2800 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12. We operate four Elementary (K-5) Schools, one Middle (6-8) School, and one High School.
Gloucester Public Schools Registration Process for Grades 1-12
Here are step-by-step directions to provide guidance to register a student for grades 1-12 in the Gloucester Public Schools. Please read through and follow the steps below.

1. Proof of Residency (at least one document from the list below)
Current Tax Bill with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
Current Mortgage Statement with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
Current Real Estate OR Excise Tax Bill with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
Current / Signed Lease Agreement with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
Current / Signed Rental Agreement with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
2. Proof of Residency (at least one document from the list below)
Current Water Bill with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
Current Gas Bill with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
Current Cable Bill with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
Current Electric Bill with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
Current Cell Phone Bill with Parent / Guardian’s Name and Address
3. Proof of Child’s Age (at least one document from the list below)
Birth Certificate
Passport
Resident Alien Card
4. Health and Medical Documentation - (both documents required)
Proof of Immunization
A Physical Exam ( within 12 months )
5. Parent / Guardian - Photo ID
Photo ID of Parent/Guardian
6. Completed Home Language Survey
A completed home language survey MUST be completed for EVERY newly registering student. This survey is required by the Massachusetts Department of Education to determine a student's need for support in a language other than English
7. Required Documents for Students Transferring to Gloucester Public Schools from Other Districts
IEP/504 Plan (if your child is receiving Special Education Services)
Grades K-8: Most Recent Report Card;
Grades 9-12: Transcript
MCAS Results (if applicable)
ACCESS Test Results (if applicable)
Transfer Document or Discharge Letter from previous School District
